Municipal water and an indoor leak
The City of Rathdrum supplies domestic municipal water to city residents. Call about the damage while an active leak is being addressed. For a visible pipe failure, use the house shutoff only when the valve is safely accessible. Water near wiring or an electrical panel makes entering the wet area unsafe.
Describe whether water is coming from a fixture, an opened wall or outside the building. An indoor pipe fault needs plumbing attention; a suspected problem with the municipal supply belongs with the city's water service. Drying work follows the water into the building materials.
Snow and the path into the house
Rathdrum's climate page documents both rain and snowfall. When water appears during a thaw, tell your technician whether it entered at a window well, foundation joint or exterior doorway. The entry route helps separate runoff from a supply leak.
Drying alone will not correct a recurring entry point. The inspection should record where water arrived, which materials became wet and what repair is needed to prevent another soaking.
